Our Story
Cultivating a Sustainable Ocean Bio-Plastic on Ireland’s Atlantic Shores
Over 25 years of seaweed farming expertise
The legacy of Ireland’s seaweed industry is a tale of resilience, innovation, and timeless connection. It speaks of communities that thrived by harnessing the sea’s generosity and of age-old traditions passed down through the generations.
We have been growing seaweed on the west coast of Ireland for over 25 years. Seaweed is grown without the need for pesticides, synthetic fertilisers or the use of fresh water. Seaweed grows by absorbing carbon dioxide and can sequester up to 20 times more carbon per acre than a forest.
Traditions meet innovation
Today, as we stand on the cusp of a new era with Algamy, we are not just paying tribute to our past but reimagining a future where coastal traditions interwines with modern processes to create world changing plastics.
Commercially viable & scalable solutions
